Parent Rules and Expectations
1. BWSA Philosophy
“Let the players play, and the coaches’ coach.”
NO coaching from sidelines during games
NO calling out individual players’ names during games. General, positive cheers like “Go Purple” are encouraged. If you must call out an individual players’ name, only do it in a positive manner. Examples are “nice play Joey”, “good work Amy”, etc.
Parents and spectators stay on side of field OPPOSITE of the teams
Referees will enforce these rules and will stop play until the situation is under control. Parents who have the urge to shout out instructions to players, coaches, or referees should control themselves.
2. Volunteering
BWSA is an all-volunteer league. Everybody helps. If you are not already acting as a coach or coordinator, possible volunteer roles include:
Team Parent
Field Lining
Field Setup
Fundraising
Registration
Webmaster
Concession Stand Attendant
Communications
Become a referee
3. Remain by the field during practices and games.
To ensure the safety of your own child and to allow the coach to focus on coaching the whole team, please REMAIN AT YOUR TEAM’S FIELD SIDE as much as possible. If you do have to leave briefly, designate another parent to be responsible for your child.
4. Obey Borough Ordinances.
Pets are not permitted in Borough Parks
Smoking is not permitted in Borough Parks
Obey Posted Speed Limits in and when approaching the Park |
